Lender-owned properties are those homes that have already been foreclosed. These properties are also known as Real Estate Owned (REO) properites. They are often times listed by REO brokers that specialize in marketing distressed properties. These propeties are offered in the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) the same as seller-owned homes. The lender-owner will sometimes require special conditions be met such as mortgage pre-approval before any offer will be considered.
